A Little Piece of Home ... Literally

The July 2008 Issue of Texas Co-op Power Magazine had an article titled Legend of the World’s Littlest Skyscraper. The link doesn't have a photo, but the printed version did.... This building is in my hometown of Wichita Falls, Texas. I remember my Dad telling me this story, and the article matches my memories, so I guess the sources were the same.... Apparently, several investors bought stock in a skyscraper to be built according to a set of blueprints they all signed off on. The building was completed, and only then did everyone realize that the scale of the blueprints was inches, rather than feet. Basically, they owned a really big stairwell by the time it was all said and done.... Just a fun little piece of history I thought I'd share....

Goin' Swimmin'

I'm not sure this is blog-worthy, but I am just so proud!! Over the past 2 months, Naomi went from clinging to us for her very life everytime we got in the pool, to full-blown swimming without a lifejacket! No lessons - just gaining confidence at the pool once a week. Her form is still ... in development ... but as far as survival, she's good to go!! And she has way more fun now that she doesn't "need" us anymore!

William had his own swimming advances this summer too. He now dives into the 9-foot area, retrieves little toys at the bottom, and swims across the whole pool without any worries.

They are both growing so fast!! I can't believe I will be the parent of two "school agers" in less than a month!
